Welcome to the Chen Art Gallery. The Chen Fine art Gallery is a non-profit museum that houses i of the near important collections of Chinese art in the United States. Operated by the T.F. Chen Family Foundation the museum showcases the collection of world renowned herbalist and pharmacist Dr. Tei Fu Chen and his family unit.

Open up to the public since 2001, the Chen Art Gallery displays an impressive assortment of over ane,000 artifacts spanning 5000 years of Chinese history from the primeval Neolithic Era pottery to early 20th Century creations. Permanent exhibition galleries include a sumptuous Qing dynasty majestic throne room, an elegant Ming dynasty bedchamber, scholar's studio treasures, jade carvings, snuff bottles, cloisonné, gilt statuary Buddhist statues, ancient pottery, and several rooms of purple porcelains. In 2006 a special exhibitions gallery was added to feature exhibitions of frail silk textiles, traditional gyre paintings, or recent acquisitions. In 2012 three more galleries were added for a total of over fifteen exhibition rooms. In 2014 a temporary exhibition debuted the conquering of 100 original etchings from the masterful Vollard Suite by Pablo Picasso.

Currently on view is an exhibition titled "The Centre of an Art Collector" that features 4 rooms with various European art including Renaissance-20th century statuary statues, luxurious eighteen-20th century British and French clocks and jeweled eggs designed by Theo Fabergé.

Opening August 2018 is an exciting new exhibition titledCàntic del Solwhich debuts a new acquisition of 35 original aquatints past 20th century Spanish creative person Joan Miró. These artworks are colorful interpretations of a 12th century Italian hymn known equally "Canticle of the Sun" past St. Francis of Assisi.

Located inside the world headquarters of Sunrider International in Torrance, California, the museum is gratis and open to the public. The T.F. Chen Family unit sincerely hopes that each person who visits the museum can appreciate the beauty, rich history, and amazing achievements of Chinese culture. Tours :

All visitors will be led on a tour through several galleries of fine art by a complimentary tour guide. The tour lasts between xc-120 minutes (1 ½ - 2 hours). Please call alee to check the tour starting times and schedule your visit.

Please note that there are no benches or chairs within the galleries then guests are advised to be prepared to stand up and walk for the entire tour. Guests are permitted to bring their own canes, walkers, wheelchairs or minor portable folding stools if needed.

Bout Sizes : Tour group sizes may range between ane-30 people.
Languages : In addition to English, tours are also offered in Chinese.
When making your reservation please specify if you wish the tour to be conducted in Mandarin.

TOURING RULES:

  • Reservations: For staff scheduling purposes, visitors are encouraged to telephone call ahead and make reservations to visit the gallery. For large tours between 10-thirty people, it is advised to call a month in advance or earlier. For smaller groups of 3-9 people, it is recommended to call about a week in advance, peculiarly if you are only bachelor on a specific twenty-four hours.
  • Children aged 10 years and under are non allowed.
  • No photography or recording devices of whatsoever kind.
  • Cell phones are not immune inside the galleries.
  • Nutrient, drinks, and backpacks, large bags, and large purses are not allowed.
  • Guests are required to stay with tour guide during unabridged tour.
  • Permitted: Guests may bring their ain wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and small portable folding stools to assist with walking and standing.
